AN EVENING of drama, poetry and music will be held in Highworth next month.

The Swindon and District Samaritans is hosting its first fundraising event with an audience since lockdown began.

Guests can enjoy entertainment inside St Michael's Church from 7.30pm on August 21. The £10 ticket price includes a drink.

Tickets can be bought from the town's Lighthouse Bookshop.

Director John Williams said: "I had the idea in March of this year to organise an event of lighthearted drama and poetry and a little guitar with a glass of wine.

"The evening is titled Phenomenal Women from the poem by Maya Angelou which will end the evening."

Swindon and District Samaritans offer people the time and space to talk through whatever is troubling them and help to explore feelings to alleviate distress.
