THE online booking system that has operated throughout lockdown will remain in place at Swindon's household recycling centre.
A post Swindon Borough Council made on social media in response to the news Wiltshire's recycling centres would be scrapping their booking process said: “Rest assured people of Swindon, the booking system at our Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) at Cheney Manor Industrial Estate isn't going anywhere.”
The announcement also stated the booking capacity had increased, adding an extra 800 slots per week. This brings the total number of available recycling slots on a weekly basis to 4,000.
The council says the booking system for the Cheney Manor-based HWRC has become popular with residents.
A new check-in system will also be introduced in a few weeks’ time. The council says will make the process quicker and easier for those using the site. More will be revealed about this closer to the time.
The council has also urged people not to turn up at the site without a booking, as they will be refused entry.
