THE Thamesdown Hydrotherapy Pool is now running at its normal pre-pandemic times.

Appointments are no longer needed and the restrictions on capacity have been lifted. Visitors should still wear a face covering when entering and leaving the building.

Its opening times are 3pm to 6pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 3pm to 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 9am to 1pm on weekends.

Trustee Stan Roper said: "A lthough the pool has suffered high financial losses Over the last 18 months, it has been saved from closing with the financial help from many organisations and trusts.

"It's going to take a long time for attendances to recover which means we are still losing money, so the staff and committee are asking for help from the community in any way i.e. volunteers to help with fundraising, financial donations or even leaving a legacy in their will."

The pool had support from The National Lottery, Wiltshire Community Foundation, Swindon Borough and Stratton St Margaret Parish Council, among others: The De Brye Charitable Trust, The Walter Guinness Charitable Trust, The Pharsalia Charitable Trust and The AMMCO Charitable Trust.

The pool received a generous legacy from former pool manager Paul Charlwood's will.
