The Urgent Treatment Centre will be temporarily closed until tomorrow morning.
It will be closed from 7pm tonight until 8am tomorrow.
Dr Stephen Haig, ED consultant at GWH, said: “Our Emergency Department remains open for people with very serious, life-threatening emergencies,
“It’s really important you visit the NHS 111 website. If your condition isn’t serious, you can wait to be seen tomorrow, please contact your local pharmacy or GP tomorrow morning.
“If you’re very concerned about your condition, or unsure what to do during this time, please call 111 to be directed to the most appropriate service for your healthcare needs.
“If you have a very serious or life-threatening emergency condition, please continue to call 999. We will continue to treat and assess needing emergency care within our emergency department.
“Please remember that we are here to help you and our staff are doing their very best to see every patient and we will not tolerate any physical or verbal abuse towards staff at this time."
