SWINDON Town CEO Rob Angus says the club is working at “break-neck speed” to launch season tickets before the first League Two home game against Carlisle United on August 14.

Angus – the former Swindon Town Supporters Trust vice-chair – highlighted lifting attendances this year as one of his main objectives in his new role, and that includes the aim of pushing the number of season tickets sold to above 6000.

Town’s new CEO said the plan to launch the coming campaign’s season tickets also includes information on the previous term’s tickets, with further details about potential refunds or deferment to be provided by the club at the same time.

At Thursday’s press conference which formerly introduced owner Clem Morfuni, CEO Angus, and new head coach Ben Garner, Angus said: “We’re working on season tickets.

“We’ve engaged with the Official Supporters Club and the Supporters Trust. We’ve set up some plans that we’ve all agreed upon.

“It’s now about putting the mechanics in place of how we’ll be offering them. We’re working at absolute break-neck speed to get them out as soon as we can.”

A former performance director at Nationwide Building Society, Angus also confirmed the joint venture between the Trust and the club in purchasing the County Ground is “very much still on.”

Angus said: “Clem and I have both spoken to Susie Kemp – the CEO of Swindon Borough Council – and she’s been really supportive and understanding about us having to come in and assess things first.

“But the joint venture between the supporters and the club in purchasing the County Ground is still very much on.

“I know Susie and her team are very supportive of that, and we appreciate their patience as get things back on an even keel.”
