SOUTH Swindon MP Robert Buckland spoke out about the car meet which police dealt with.

Justice secretary Robert Buckland said: "“On Saturday evening, police spent a lot of time dealing with a large group of cars which were driving around the town. A number of calls were made by concerned residents to the police about the noise and standards of driving.

“I am working closely with Wiltshire Police, Swindon Borough Council and local businesses who were directly affected, in order to prevent unlicensed car meets from taking place.

“Advice is being taken from other police forces who have successfully dealt with this issue on the measures they’ve taken to stop if from happening where they are.

“This is a matter that is being taken seriously and I would urge residents to continue to report concerns to police through the website www.wiltshire.police.uk or by calling 101."

“If you are a South Swindon resident with concerns, you can also raise these with me by emailing robert.buckland.mp@parliament.uk"
