TOWN CENTRE: Swindon Borough Council made an experimental order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to amend the Swindon Borough Council (Waiting and Loading Restrictions and Parking Places Consolidation) Order 2021.

This order is to be operative from August 1 2021 for the duration of 18 months and involves the introduction of electrical vehicle charging points in residents parking zones.

Bays are for use by residents permit holders only and these permits are specific to each zone.

The charging points are available from 8am to 10pm for a maximum time of three hours, no return within two hours, for the purpose of charging an electric vehicle at the following locations: Ford Street in Zone K, Broad Street in Zone J, Westmorland Road in Zone H, Dixon Street, Ashford Road and Maidstone Road in Zone D, William Street in Zone F, and Milton Road in Zone C.

The experimental order is introduced to allow the council to implement the restrictions with immediate effect.

Any person wishing to make representations whether to object to or support the order before it is made permanent must do so by completing the consultation form which can be found at www.swindon.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders under 'experimental traffic regulation orders' reference (ST&I/TRO/EVCP) by no later than January 31 2022.

Any objection or representation received will form part of a public record which may be made publicly available.

If you wish to question the validity of the order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the order, you may, within six weeks from July 14 2021 apply to the High Court for this purpose.

SHRIVENHAM: A planning application (reference P21/V1217/RM ) has been submitted which includes reserved matters which have been requested following the granting of outline planning permission for another application (reference P15/V2541/0).

This proposal includes details of the appearance, layout and scale for the development of a retail unit of up to 400 square metres along with associated highways works. The retail space would be built on land north of Shrivenham near Highworth Road.

BOURTON: A planning application (reference P21/V1925/HH) proposes adding a single storey rear extension and second storey side extension to The Beeches on Silver Street.
