SWINDON: Gary Metcalfe of no fixed address pleaded guilty to stealing food valued at £23.47 from The Range on March 22.

The 35-year-old then failed without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on June 22.

He was told he must pay the value of the goods stolen in compensation and received a £50 fine for failing to surrender.

REDHOUSE: Martyn Lewis of Gaveller Road indicated a guilty plea to assaulting a woman on July 19, 2019.

The 30-year-old caused his victim actual bodily harm and between March 7 and July 20 2019 coercively controlled her at the time by assaulting her on at least three occasions and making derogatory comments about her weight, appearance and alcohol consumption.

Lewis received fines totalling £333 and must pay £105 in court costs plus £95 to victim services.

A community order requires him to attend Building Better Relationships courses.

He received a two-year restraining order preventing him from contacting his victim.

SWINDON: Issa Dasu-Patel of Regent Drive in Preston pleaded guilty to speeding on the M4.

The 26-year-old drove a Porsche Magan along the motorway at more than 70mph on June 20 last year.

He lost his licence for 14 days, received a £108 fine and must pay £110 in court costs plus another £101 to victim services.

TOWN CENTRE: Megan Wright of Station Road pleaded not guilty but was later found guilty of stealing a man’s wallet which had £15 in cash inside on March 12.

The 24-year-old received a fine of £120 and must pay £690 in court costs as well as £34 to victim services plus £15 compensation to her victim.

Separately, she pleaded guilty to stealing £7.40 from Greggs with an accomplice on March 17.

For this offence, she received an £80 fine and must pay £34 to victim services.

WESTLEA: Peter Mottram of Springhill Close was convicted of speeding on the M20.

The 40-year-old exceeded the 70mph speed limit in an Audi S4 near West Malling in Kent on September 30.

He lost his licence for 21 days, received a £500 fine and must pay £85 in court costs plus a £50 contribution towards victim services.

OLD TOWN: Christina Wall of Dewell Mews pleaded guilty to drink driving.

The 47-year-old drove a BMW on Newport Street on April 18 and a breathalyser revealed she had 134 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

She received a four-week prison sentence which has been suspended for 12 months, along with a rehabilitation activity requirement.

The magistrates banned her from driving for 30 months and told her she must pay £85 in court costs, plus £95 towards victim services.

CRICKLADE: Shane Wopling of Parsonage Farm Close pleaded guilty to stealing a car, driving without insurance or valid licence, causing a police officer distress and assaulting another officer.

The 26-year-old was caught while driving on Malmesbury Road in Cricklade on April 4

He must pay £150 in compensation to the PC he harassed and £100 to the one he hit.

He received eight points on his driving licence.

SHAW: Carey-Anne Wheeler of Ixworth Close pleaded guilty to stealing an electric toothbrush worth £24.99 from Kennet Pharmacy in Marlborough on January 15 and driving a van with two faulty tyres on March 20 last year.

She was told she must pay the value of the goods she stole in compensation.

The 48-year-old also pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit on County Way in Trowbridge on January 15 while she had 735 mcgs of Benzoylecognine per litre of blood in her system.

For this, she lost her licence for 36 months, received a £120 fine and must pay £85 in costs plus another£34 to victim services.

She received another £120 fine for failing to provide a blood sample on June 28.
