A FREE online event for former Honda workers and those in the supply chain thinking about starting their own business will be held today.
Entrepreneur Jay Hastings, who created the business training program Serious About Success in 2020, will deliver a 90-minute online Zoom class to inspire people to start their own business.
Jay, 40, said: “We thought it might be a good opportunity to help people in terms of the current situation. Just because you’re being made redundant doesn’t mean that you can’t do something else, this could be a good opportunity to look into a different area where you can maintain your current level of lifestyle and you don’t have to worry about redundancies when you’re working for yourself.
“It’s a good opportunity for people to learn different things as well as the mindset of having your own business," he said. “Instead of working for your time, you will now be able to work for your results.
“From a motivational point of view, we’ve only got one shot of life.
“Something terrible has happened which isn’t going to fill you with motivation, however this doesn’t have to be the be-all and end-all, there’s a lot of life to give.”
The class will focus on how to start a business, finding out if you have what it takes to be your own boss and making sure you can maintain your previous lifestyle.
It runs at midday today on the event’s Facebook page with a Zoom link provided for people to join in at facebook.com/events/242894934322103
