ARMED police were sent to the town centre this afterrnoon after reports of a man being shot in the face.
The road on William Street was closed by police but has since reopened.
No arrests were made and no firearms were found at the address.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to an address in William Street at around 12.30pm today after a report of a man being shot in the face.
“Due to the nature of the incident, the road was closed and armed officers were deployed.
“The matter was resolved and the road reopened at 1:55pm with no arrests being made and no firearms being found at the scene.”
