FIREFIGHTERS rushed to a fire at a former nightclub in the town centre.
Crews from Stratton, Westlea and Swindon were called to what used to be The Broadwalk in Bridge Street at 4.24pm yesterday afternoonafter being alerted to a fire in the roof of a building.
A spokesperson from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews found evidence of multiple seats of fire in a two storey derelict property, but these had been extinguished before their arrival.”
Wiltshire Police were also at the scene while breathing apparatus wearers used hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera as a precautionary measure.
Safety jets were used to clear smoke.
