Argos shut its doors at the Greenbridge Retail Park for the last time this week in preparation for opening in its new home at Sainsburys in Oxford Road.
Posters have been put up outside the doors telling customers that the store is now closed, although there are staff still working inside because anyone who had an outstanding click and collect order can call a number to have their items brought to them.
The brand new Argos branch is now inside the Sainsburys supermarket. It’s much smaller than the Greenbridge Argos and it has no products on the shop floor. Nor is there a jewellery counter.
There are several individual click and collect tills and an area with computer screens for people to browse the Argos catalogue and make their orders.
It is not yet known if another store will be replacing the Argos at Greenbridge or when the unit will be empty.
