Swindon Borough Council's beleaguered highways team received praise from one councillor for its work in planning a roadworks - the improvements to junction 15 of the M4.
As members of the growing the economy overview and scrutiny committee asked senior members of the Conservative cabinet about various infrastructure schemes, Coun Jenny Jefferies said to the cabinet member for transport Gary Sumner. "I live right by junction 15 and it's been a smooth as it comes. I know it hasn't finished yet but it's already so much better."
Another councillor, Old Town's Nick Burns-Howell wasn't so enthused: "I've had complaints about traffic coming off the M4 from the west having long delays. Could you pass that on?"
Coun Sumner said he would take the feedback, both good and bad, back to the highways team to see what could be done.
