MANAGERS of the Swindon Designer Outlet confirmed that the site is now up for sale and seeking to find a new owner.

A spokesman for the Kemble Drive shopping centre said: "We can confirm that Nuveen, the real estate investment manager in McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon has launched the sale of this highly attractive and successful retail destination.

"The centre will continue to operate and trade as normal."

The Adver heard from a source speaking on Nuveen's behalf that the company could not comment directly on the matter but could confirm that Morgan Williams has been appointed to sell the Swindon site and the Cheshire Oaks outlet for a total price of around £600 million for both assets.

News of the sale starting first broke on Friday, when real estate websites published pieces about the process beginning.

The sites were first developed by McArthur Glen more than two decades ago.

Nuveen took over the Swindon and Cheshire outlets in 2008 for its UK Outlet Mall Fund and has invested a "significant" amount into the centres which have delivered positive returns.
