A Genesis tribute act that had to postpone its Swindon show because of the Covid pandemic is finally performing live at the Wyvern tonight.

Keyboard player from Genesis Reconnected Chris Woods said: "When we first started we were at the Arts Centre, but now we’re at the Wyvern which is great because it’s the kind of venue our show needs to be in.”

The Genesis, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel and Mike and the Mechanics tribute show was one of many that couldn’t take place during lockdown.

“We were lucky to some degree,” Chris said, “It’s not our full-time job. Most of us in the band have got day jobs, mainly gigs at weekends. We feel very sorry for productions where that’s their only source of income. It must’ve been horrendous.

“We missed our audience and missed performing.

“It was really really strange, to hear the noise back from an audience on our first show. It was quite emotional actually, to get a reaction from an audience after eighteen months, was quite an epic moment, you kind of don’t take it for granted, as maybe people like us did before Covid."
