A GANG of balaclava-clad masked cyclists are targeting lone women in a Swindon park.

The trio, dressed all in black, knocked over one victim in Grange Park who claimed they “got a thrill out of intimidating women”.

She said they were “wearing masks and balaclavas” as they approached her on bicycles - with one almost colliding with her and knocking her into a bush.

She said: “One of them was particularly aggressive and he had a foul mouth.”

After confronting her, the group approached another woman while she walked her dog and shouted “a lot of verbal abuse” at her, the woman recalled.

The victim said: “They were just out there to intimidate people and they were enjoying it.

“It is scary because you don’t know what they’re going to do, especially as they’re wearing masks. It’s like they got a thrill out of intimidating women.”

Wiltshire Police have filed a report and are investigating.

A spokesman said: “We received an anti-social behaviour report regarding three males acting an intimidating manner in Hay Lane, Grange Park, Swindon.

“The report said the group had been abusive, and, although nobody was injured, the victim and others had been left feeling frightened.

“No arrests have been made, but we have logged the information as part of intelligence-building about anti-social behaviour and crime in the local area so officers can respond accordingly.”
