THE £55,000 revamp of a Stratton play park is complete.

Parish council chairman Coun Robert Jandy officially reopened the Meadowcroft Park site which now has new play equipment for children to enjoy.

The extra additions are for toddlers and juniors and the new rubber safety surfaces can be used to play 'the floor is lava'.

Coun Jandy welcomed the refurbishment of this play are in one of Stratton St Margaret's busiest parks.

He added: "We believe this play area now has good inclusivity to children with disabilities too.

"We are committed to continually improving this provision across all 10 of our play parks within the parish.

"Play equipment for public areas is never cheap and our excellent contractor has delivered a high quality job for us, so thank you to them.

"We will be monitoring this new area very closely and if the equipment is a success and used appropriately, we will investigate the potential for further improvements very soon.

"As always, we welcome local people's feedback and questions.

"We are so excited about these improvements and know you are going to love it."

The play park is next to the parish council's community rooms and offices on Addison Crescent.
