A LONG police cordon stretches across hedges lining the footpath connecting Gorse Hill and Pinehurst.
Officers have now allowed people back onto The Venny after carrying out forensic investigation of the scene of a fatal stabbing.
Pedestrians and cyclists travelled along as normal, with dogwalkers letting their pets run around and play in the sunshine on the wide green space.
Bouquets of flowers have been left at the foot of the large grassy mound and near the gates by the field's entrances.
A handful of police officers stood watch at intervals along the path. Three police cars were parked along Pinehurst Road, with two more cars and a police van at the Southbrook Recreation Grounds car park.
It’s fairly quiet, with cyclists and dog walkers using the path as normal. This clip gives some idea of the full length of the police cordon pic.twitter.com/tNXyuVmiMK
