THE long-awaited latest addition to Swindon's town centre opens tomorrow.

The Boom Battle Bar in Regent Circus is arriving in Swindon in style with a series of special events, including a circus extravaganza, beer festival, comedy night, and street food session.

While these events are going on in the Boom Beer Hall next door, Battle Bar customers can try their hand at axe-throwing, crazier golf, virtual-reality booths and augmented-reality darts along with a pool table, karaoke and table tennis.

In-between games, visitors can relax and refuel by trying street food, cocktails and craft beer.

The sold-out grand opening will feature a ringmaster introducing a range of spectacular acts, including a contortionist, hula hoop artists, ribbon dancing, singers, a fire show, and an LED show.

House before that begins, a bottomless brunch with street food and unlimited prosecco, house drinks and cocktails soundtracked by 90s and noughties R&B hits will be held from 12.30pm.

A Jongleurs comedy night is up next on Thursday with MC Kane Brown, Mark Palmer, Nick Page and Robert White.

An Oktoberfest-themed event will follow on Friday from 7pm and transform the venue into a German beer hall, with a sausage-eating contest and a live Oompah band.

Next week rounds off with a street food and socialising session on Saturday from 6pm.

The Battle Bar now fills four units of the complex next to new Korean restaurant Funky Grilla, taking up space which was mostly vacant and includes the former home of Coal Kitchen.

The 15,000 sq ft space represents a £1.5 million investment from the franchise owners and will bring a total of 50 new and part-time jobs to the area.

Work on the new leisure destination began in July. Check out Monday's Adver for a review of what it has to offer.

The adventure bar has existing branches in Cardiff and Norwich with plans to open in Oxford, Liverpool, Eastbourne, Leeds and Manchester.

A Battle Bar spokesman said: “The response to the venues that we’ve opened so far has been class and we’re looking forward to continuing that trend at Regent Circus.

“Socialising is evolving and we want to play our part in that by bringing a competitive edge to nights out with your mates, dates, and anyone else that fancies having a go.

“We pride ourselves on the ‘Boom experience’ from in-store to our social pages - we’re not just a place that you come to as a one off. Swindon, here comes the Boom.”
