It might be one of the oldest pubs in Swindon, but the food hygiene standards at the Queen's Tap are right up to date.

The pub in Station Road has just been gibe a five-out-of five food hygiene rating by environmental health officers at Swindon Borough Council, after an inspection on March 23.

The new rating is shown on the Food Standards Agency website which says that of Swindon’s 132 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 90 have the highest possible ratings of five - that's 68 per cent of the total and just one has a zero rating.

The Queen's Tap is one of the first pubs that travellers to Swindon will see, being just across the road from the railway station and it dates back to 1841.

It has just launched a new menu, available at mightylocal.co.uk/pubs/queens-tap-swindon
