Prospect Hospice has received £13,058 after locals attended a festival in Old Town in the summer.

The My Dad’s Bigger Than Your Dad Festival took place on August 28 in Town Gardens Bowl and those who attended not only enjoyed live music and sunshine, but contributed towards this huge figure.

The event was held in honour of Dave Young, who was cared for by the hospice at the end of his life.

Prospect Hospice posted a picture on its social media of nursing staff receiving a cheque from Anna Sprawson-Young and Ed Dyer of the Swindon Shuffle along with the following comments.

“The event was generously sponsored and supported by many organisations and volunteers and the amount raised for the hospice was £13,058.21.

“Thank you to everyone who was involved in raising much needed funds for the hospice.”

The post also confirms that the festival will be returning next year on July 16.
