A NEW nightclub is set to open its doors in Old Town.

Boarding featuring green leaves, exotic flowers and statues has been put up outside what used to be the popular nightclub Suju. 

It says that 'Kioki' is coming soon and directs people to go to its website. 

The only information on the site is a picture of a cocktail waiter pouring a cocktail and some text that reminds people that that Kioki is 'coming soon' as well as the address - 28 High Street, Swindon SN1 3EP

An expired job advert was posted on caterer.com for a mixologist/bar manager and it had a brief description of what Kioki is going for.

"The concept of this brand-new venue is a high-end bar/nightclub with a strong focus on providing the customer with incredible cocktails and the best experience possible."

The advert also indicates that Kioki will be opening in December.

No more is known about this exciting new addition to Old Town at this stage, or who might be behind it. 

The former inhabitants of the building, night club Suju, closed their doors for good in March 2021, posting the following message on their Facebook page

"It is with a very heavy heart that we must announce the closure of SUJU nightclub.

"The continued impact of the Covid pandemic has made it impossible for us to continue to meet our financial responsibilities.

"We are immensely proud to have been part of Swindon’s clubbing scene for nearly 15 years, hosting amazing events with great DJ`s, Performance acts and Comedians...

"I would like to personally thank the thousands of clubbers and staff. Amazing local djs, promoters and events hosts. Friends, family and of course my wonderful wife.

"Though we will be closing the nightclub side of our business, we are planning on taking our events on the road. Watch this space.

"So it’s a good bye for now and a hope to see you all very soon.

"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, it has been fun, Shaun, & the Suju Team."
