Wanborough Road closed due to severe flooding making it impassable
The section of Wanborough Road between Wanborough village and Merlin Way has been closed due to excessive flooding.
Heavy rain this morning has left several large bodies of deep standing water that could strand certain cars.
The alarm was raised to Swindon Borough Council by Ridgeway ward councillor Gery Sumner, and it has acted by closing the road.
Road closed signs and diversions have been put in place at both sides of the road.
It is not clear how long these measures will be in place
