FOOD hygiene inspectors have given out two new ratings to Swindon social clubs.

They visited the Moredon Social Club in Moredon Community Centre on The Street to examine and assess the level of food safety and hygiene in the venue on November 4.

According to the Food Standards Agency’s website, the social club received the highest possible rating of five out of five, considered as 'very good'.

Staff's hygienic food handling was good while the management of food safety and the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building were very good.

Inspectors carried out a similar assessment during a visit to Queenstown Social Club on Dudmore Road in Old Walcot on October 18.

This venue received a 'generally satisfactory' three-out-of-five rating from the authority.

Hygienic food handling, management of food safety and the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building were all generally satisfactory.

These latest findings mean that of Swindon’s 133 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 91 (68 per cent ) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
