Swindonians have a chance to influence major projects which could help transform the town centre.

The Towns Fund Board, which is managing six projects spending £19.5m of government money has a community engagement panel to help shape the projects.

The community panel represents a diverse range of views and experience and the board says members have been able to contribute to and influence the first three detailed business cases looking at environmental, economic and community perspectives.

Members attended a visit to the Carriage Works and other will visit the Health Hydro ahead of a workshop putting together the business case for that project.

There are spaces available to join the panel.

Co-ordinator Pam Webb from Voluntary Action Swindon “We’re so grateful for the time and diligence members of the community panel have given to this important project for Swindon. Early comments from the panel influenced the scores of the projects which were ultimately selected and added a strong community dimension to the Town Investment Plan. The panel is now helping to shape the detailed business cases.”

Anyone interested in joining the panel to help with the remaining business cases should contact Pam on pam@vas-swindon.org
