INFECTION rates remain high around the Swindon area, though the number of newly-recorded cases is dropping in some parts.
The latest government case map shows varying levels of infection around the borough and its outskirts - the highest is Shrivenham, Watchfield and Uffington with 78 while Pinehurst had just 10 new positive test results recorded in the seven days up to November 29.
On the whole, Swindon at this time had 775 new cases recorded, which was 30 fewer than the week before, and had an infection rate of 347.7 cases per 100,000 population.
