OFFICERS kept an eye on the roads in a Swindon village as part of an effort to catch speeding drivers.

Police from Swindon Team 5 response went out and about on Monday morning to carry out speed checks in the Liddington area.

This came about in response to concerns raised by people in the village about high levels of speeding they had seen, especially during the morning rush hour.

A police spokesman said: "We are pleased to report that we only had to stop one driver and offer words of advice about their driving - with the vast majority of drivers obeying the speed limit."
