Tech team help wrap hundreds of presents for Swindon children

Staff at Ntegra joined forces with teachers Sean Harper and Mike Jones to put the finishing touches to 300 Christmas presents for children from around the town.

Sean and Mike run Just For Fun holiday clubs which support children, many of whom are from low income families, during school holidays with fun activities which are often sport related.

The pair work full-time as teachers and decided to ensure every child had a gift to open when they attend the holiday club later this month.

Sean said: “We were very aware that for some of the children who visit our holiday clubs, their Christmas might not involve many presents so this was our small way of giving back and saying thank you to them.

"However, the time it would take to wrap hundreds of presents was very daunting. We can’t thank the Ntegra team enough for stepping up to support us.”

The technology company has an office inside the historic Carriage Works near Swindon's railway station.

When employees heard about the tough wrapping task facing the two teachers, they eagerly offered their support and gathered after work to help out.

Katie Boot from Ntegra said: "When I saw the piles of gifts I did think it was going to take a long time.

"However, once we all got going it was actually quite easy. We got the whole job done in less than two hours.

“Being able to give back in this way, particularly to children in our community is important to us and we really enjoyed the experience.”

The business began in 2003 when freelance IT consultants Andy Jefferies and Bill Hart set it up.

The company has gone on to work with brands including Vodafone, Waitrose and WPP. The team now has 40 staff in Swindon itself along with specialist IT associates based around the world.

Its staff specialise in helping companies improve their digital sites and web presence as well as their in-house communication networks.
