A DRUG driver has been banned from the roads for three years after being caught under the influence twice in four weeks.
James Metcalfe, of Whitehead Street pleaded guilty to the charges against him and was sentenced at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this week.
The 32-year-old drove a Renault Clio along Dorcan Way on October 12 2020 while having 236 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine per litre of blood in his system.
For this, he received a £100 fine and must pay £34 to victim services.
Then, on November 15 2020, he drove a Renault Clio along Wootton Bassett Road while having 800 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine per litre of blood in his system.
And, at the same time while behind the wheel, a test showed he had 16 micrograms of cocaine per litre of blood as well.
For this offence, he received a £200 fine.
There was no order for costs and his guilty plea was taken into account when sentenced.
