A DRINK driver from Swindon has had his licence taken away for 20 months.
Daviti Vardidze, of Hawthorn Avenue, drove a Volkswagen Golf along Great Western Way on December 19 while more than double the alcohol limit, which is 37 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The 44-year-old had 81 microgrammes per 100ml of breath when tested.
He pleaded guilty to the charge at Swindon Magistrates Court.
He received a £150 fine and must pay £85 in costs plus £34 to victim services.
He has been disqualified from driving for 20 months, though this time period could be reduced by 20 weeks if he satisfactorily completes a course by next January.
