The Apprentice is returning to our screens tonight and viewers will be able to see an entrepreneur from Swindon battle it out for an investment from Lord Alan Sugar in this year’s series.

The candidates for the sixteenth series of the BBC staple were recently revealed and Kathryn Louise Burn, 29, from the town, was announced as one of the people vying for life-changing £250,000.

The starlet posted her reaction to being announced as taking part on Instagram.

She said: "Secret’s out! I am so excited to announce that I’m a candidate on this years Apprentice. Let’s see if I can battle it out against 15 other candidates to win Lord Sugar's investment of £250,000 for My Everyday Pyjamas."

After working a range of jobs, from mortgage advisor to events manager, Kathryn now has ambitious plans for her online pyjama business and is confident that they will one day be “worn by everyone.”

She launched the online retailer My Christmas Pyjamas in 2018, which aimed to sell people (and pets) high-end PJs.

But the businesswoman is looking to expand and announced the launch of My Everyday Pyjamas coming soon for January 2022.

In her candidate profile on the BBC’s Apprentice website it says that she describes herself as ambitious, kind, and often “savage”, she adds she’s there to win, not to make friends.

She is also quoted as saying:” My dreams in my head are absolutely huge, and I believe I can achieve them.”

But this won’t be the Swindon resident’s first time on television as Kathryn was previously put to test on screen as one of the contestants on The Island with Bear Grylls in 2017 - her television debut.

At the time she worked as an events manager in Swindon and was a self-declared social media addict. She said she went on the show because she wanted to be taken “completely out of her comfort zone” for the experience.

“I’m more capable than people think I am. I want to prove that to other people and myself," she told The Adver in a previous interview.

The new Apprentice star, also nicknamed Kaggy or Kaggz, can be seen in a clip of the survival show posted by the Daily Star being put through the ringer and getting emotional.

In one scene she is wearing a pink jacket and jumping up and down with pure excitement as another one of the show’s contestants successfully managed to start a fire.

After going on the show, Kathryn said; “I absolutely love a challenge, and I don’t think I could challenge myself any more than this.”

The Apprentice will air on BBC One and iPlayer at 9pm.
