WROUGHTON: A traffic order (reference STR000278) is being introduced to allow SSEN to install HV ducting.

It will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and parking on Marlborough Road and Brimble Hill from the junction of Devizes Road to the junction of Wanshot Close on Brimble Hill.

Traffic will be diverted via B4005, Brimble Hill, Hodson Road, New Road, A346 Marlborough, M259 Marlborough Road, B4006 Marlborough Road, Pipers Way, Croft Road, Swindon Road and Moormead Road.

The order will come into force on January 10 and the works will take place for 12 weeks.

SOUTH MARSTON: Another order (reference STR000267) will allow works to be carried out on a BT duct.

It will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Highworth Road between Greenfields and Quarrybrook Close.

Traffic will be diverted via Old Vicarage Road, A420 to Shrivenham, Highworth Road, Shrivenham Road and A361 Highworth Road.

Work will take place on January 10, 11 and 12 overnight between the hours of 8pm and 6am.

BADBURY PARK: Construction of the third phase of the Badbury Park housing development will stop pedestrians from using footpaths 1,2 and 6 Central Swindon south of Day House Lane, north of M4 and west of the A419 between M4 Junction 15 and Commonhead Roundabout.

The order (reference STRDDD218) originally came into force on July 5 2021 for six months but the Secretary of State for Transport has approved an application for the closure to be extended for a further six months until July 5 2022 so that the work can be completed.

CHENEY MANOR: An application has been made to the licensing authority for Swindon for the grant of a premises licence by Cuetopia (Swindon) Ltd in respect of Unit 26 in BSS House on Cheney Manor Industrial Estate.

The application seeks to allow the sale by retail of alcohol (on sales only) from 10am to midnight Monday to Thursday, from 10am to 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 10am to 11pm on Sundays.

OGBOURNE ST ANDREW: Mark Braddock has applied to the licensing authority of Wiltshire Council for a new premises licence for Silks on the Downs in Ogbourne St Andrew, Marlborough.

The application seeks to allow on sales for the supply of alcohol between 12pm and 11pm on Sundays and 11am to 11pm Monday to Saturday.
