New homes have sprung up at the Greenbridge headquarters of WHSmith, more than 50 years after the huge distribution centre was officially opened.
Staff were moved into the tower block after permission was granted in 2020 for part of the site to become a 134-home estate.
Since then the distinctive curved office building has been demolished and terraced homes have appeared in its place.
When the distribution centre opened in 1966 workers moved from London to get it up and running. Some of the site was vacated by the company in 2019 and sold for the housing development.
