CCTV images have been released after a man attempted to punch a woman and racially abused her in an unprovoked attack.

The man was heard shouting and swearing as he walked along Grange Drive, Stratton, at around 7am on January 12. He approached a woman in her 40s, who he racially abused, and ripped her glasses off her faces before trying to punch her. 

He then approached the Number 7 bus, where he caused a disorder.

He is described as white, around 6 ft tall, and he was wearing a black bomber jacket, black jogging bottoms and a cap.

The victim didn't sustain any injuries but she was shaken by the assault.

Police would like to speak to the man in the CCTV images in connection with the incident.
