IMPROVEMENTS will be made to a busy Stratton junction.
Swindon Borough Council's contractor will install sensors on Cricklade Road and apply anti-skid coating to the junction of Chestnut Avenue tonight.
While this work is being carried out overnight on January 31, the northbound side of Cricklade Road and the junction of Chestnut Avenue will be closed to traffic.
Access into and out of Chestnut Avenue from Cricklade Road will be stopped from 10pm to allow the anti-skid coating to be laid.
The northbound side of Cricklade Road will then be closed for a few hours from around midnight, which will mean the last bus can pass through without needing to be diverted.
A diversion route will be in place for motorists during the closure and both sections of the road will reopen by 6am at the latest the following morning, February 1.
A council spokesman added: "Unfortunately, these tasks were not able to be carried out during the previous closures at the start of December due to the availability of the sub-contractor.
"We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused by this work. To keep up to date with our Highways schemes, sign up to Highways News ➡️ www.swindon.gov.uk/newsletter"
