A family company which claims to sell the ‘best brownies’ has big plans for the future after securing a new lease for a shop in Swindon Designer Outlet.

The Best Ever Brownie Company is one of the only independent businesses with a shop space in the Outlet and co-founders Solance and Craig Poole have just secured a lease until Christmas.

The couple and their staff have transformed the Outlet shop space into a cafe with a pink neon ‘I believe in brownies’ light and carefully arranged tables with their handmade products.

The Pooles are also in the process of expanding the business further as they hope to launch their cafe in the Foxham countryside this summer when they finish their barn conversion.

They launched online in 2018 but the pandemic saw deliveries boom so they were selling 100 boxes a day.

They now sell 5,000 brownies a week carefully baked by Craig and his team of chefs.

Solance said: “We approached the Outlet and just asked them to give us a chance even though we’re not a big name yet.

Swindon Advertiser:

“It’s just brilliant because we started selling our products online and that really took off during lockdown.

“People were going crazy because they couldn’t get treats or go anywhere. We carried it on from there and the natural step was a shop.

“It’s just been so popular in the shop with people popping in and out.

“Our overall hope is to start a chain and go to Bristol and places like that.

"If it’s chocolatey and sweet, we will do it.”

The Pooles say they pride themselves that everything they sell is made from scratch and they use top quality local ingredients.

They make everything in their Foxham kitchens from brownies and blondies to jams and chocolate slabs.

Craig has been running the cafe at Coate Water for 15 years and when he met Solance, she gave up her job to work there too.

Swindon Advertiser:

They thought about setting up their own company because people flocked to the cafe to buy the brownies.

“So many people would come and say these are the best things I’ve ever eaten so that’s how the name came about,” Solance said.

“It was our own recipe so we thought we’ve got something here.”

Craig is a classically-trained chef and spent years perfecting the best brownie recipe.
