Camera club member Alana Hewitt was delighted when a cheeky robin hopped aboard her van to inspect her cargo as she made her daily delivery to the Great Western Hospital.

The tiny bird fluttered about taking a good look at everything before heading off.

Robins are known for their interest in humans and gardeners often find the little creatures get closer when they start digging, hoping for a few tasty worms or other titbits to be uncovered.

According to the RSPB, they are the UK's favourite bird and they're very resourceful when it comes to picking their nesting sites.

Some have chosen supermarket warehouses, farmers have found them in machinery that had been put away for the winter and a gardener discovered one had moved in to the pocket of a coat hung up just the night before.
