BLUNSDON: A traffic order will stop vehicles from travelling along the High Street between Fortuna Road and Hatchers Crescent from April 11 to 22.
The order (reference STR000285) is being introduced to allow Newland Homes to carry out development works. Traffic to be diverted via Ermin Street, B4019 and Sams Lane.
HINTON PARVA: The road outside West Hinton House will be closed from March 1 to 7 while Thames Water carries out connection works. The order (reference STR000301) will divert traffic via City Corner and Body Horse Hill.
BROAD BLUNSDON: Thames Water connection works will stop vehicles travelling along the the B4019 outside The Cold Harbour and Premier Inn between 8pm to 6am on several nights. Traffic to be diverted via the A361 Highworth Road, B4141 Kinsdown Road, B4141 Beechcroft Road, A4311 Cricklade Road, B4534 Lady Lane.
The order (reference STR000303) will come into force on March 14 and the work should be finished by March 23.
CHISELDON: Openreach laying a new duct along Draycot Lane will close the road on the verge outside Draycot Close. Traffic to be diverted via The Ridgeway, A346 Marlborough Road, High Street and vice versa.
The order (reference STR000317) will come into force on April 12 and the work should take two days.
WICHELSTOWE: Construction works have closed part of public right of way footpath 10 from the canal towpath and Southleaze Track, as well as footpath 35 from north of the Southleaze track to the junction with Scott Way. Pedestrians to be diverted via the canal towpath, footways on Peglars Way and Scott Way.
The order (reference STR000225) came into force on August 25 2021 for six months but it has now been extended for another six months to August 25 2022. For further information regarding any of the above orders, contact 01793 463040 quoting the relevant reference.
SWINDON: The council’s street trading policy is now being reviewed again with specific consultation on the designation of streets across the borough - including those identified as 'under consideration' – and the current restrictions on markets and their locations, as well as individual traders being able to trade within the town centre outside of a market which may be during identified times of the year, and the fee structure for street trading.
The consultation is open to the public and the results of this consultation will be presented to the Licensing Committee for consideration June 29.

SWINDON: Under the Gambling Act 2005, the licensing authority must prepare and publish a Statement of Gambling Principles to apply to gambling premises in the locality.
There is a statutory requirement for this to be reviewed every three years and undergo consultation prior to the final determination by full council. This is a public consultation and the results will be presented to the Licensing Committee for consideration on March 22.
