Organisers are quacking on with plans for the first Swindon Duck Race in two years.

The much-loved fundraiser couldn't take place because of the Covid pandemic but is returning on May 29 at Westcott Recreation Ground and tickets have already gone on sale.

A spokesperson from Old Town Rotary, which hosts the event, said: "It's worth emphasising that over many years Swindon Old Town Rotary thinks, eats, sleeps the duck race the whole year-round.

"However, having had two years off thanks to Covid might make you think we may have relaxed a little.

"This is to reassure you we are back in the saddle and now raring to go again."

Besides the race itself, the event will also include food and stalls from local companies.

There is also live music and a dog show.

Tickets are £1 per ticket and all the money raised during the event will go to local Rotary charities.

Charities can also contact the club to start selling tickets of their own to raise money for their charity.
