A driver caught at the wheel when she was three and-a-half times the legal alcohol limit has escaped an immediate jail sentence.
Channel Barclay, 29, of Lalique Close appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on March 16, where she admitted a charge of drink driving.
She was stopped by police on February 13, after she was spotted driving a Mini on the same road as her address.
When breath tested she gave an alcohol reading of 123 mcgs. The legal limit is 35.
Magistrates sentenced her to eight weeks in jail suspended for 12 months, due to the seriousness of the offence.
She was given a 12-month community order and ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
She was also disqualified from driving for 29 months and was ordered to pay £213 in court costs.
