The first few acts have been announced for this year's Live at Lydiard festival.

Event organisers revealed Rag'n'Bone would be headlining, with Example, Jax Jones and Blue DeTiger also set to appear at the event in August.

A post on the Live at Lydiard Facebook page read: "Here it is! The moment you've all been waiting for. We're immensely proud to announce our first four acts for Live at Lydiard 2022 including our festival headliner Rag’n’Bone Man.

"The amazing Blu DeTiger, Example and Jax Jones will also be joining us this year + we'll also be revealing more huge headliners and 25+ other artists in the coming month"

Live at Lydiard's debut last summer saw Anne Marie, Clean Bandit and Dizzee Rascal  entertained a 10,000-strong crowd.

This year, the event is moving from Lydiard Park - where the inaugural show took place - to the nearby Lydiard Tregoze.

Organisers The Culture Collective say that its move - within 'the heart of Lydiard' - means it can increase capacity this year from 10,000 to 15,000. It also says the increased space will mean a better experience for festivalgoers.

But a meeting is set to take place on April 26 at which Wiltshire Council will decide whether to grant the organisers a premesis license for the event - without it, it may not be able to go ahead.

There were a number of representations made against allowing The Culture Collective to hold the event at Lydiard Tregoze, with Lydiard Park, Swindon Borough Council, and Environmental Health all writing in.

In a letter written to the council's licensing department The Culture Collective's Jack Summers said his team had received the representations, are working to address them and have consequently "engaged" Method Events, which has "delivered some of the UK's most complex large-scale events", as a consultant for this year's plans.

The meeting to make the licensing decision was due to take place on March 29, but a mixture of Covid-related absences and more time being needed to "gather and consider further relevant information and documentation" meant it was postponed for a month.
