ONE of Swindon's McDonald's restaurants will close for the next few weeks.

The Greenbridge branch of the popular fast food chain will be temporarily shutting while a refurbishment is carried out.

The popular Big Mac vendor underwent a major 11-week revamp in March 2019 when it became the first branch in the country to have a veranda with extra seating overhanging the drive-thru.

This top-to-bottom makeover came with other new additions like self-service kiosks and a table service option.

There are fewer specific details about what this upcoming refurb will involve but it promises to give the restaurant a new look and streamline service for hungry customers.

A McDonald's spokesman said: “We’re excited that our Greenbridge Retail Park restaurant is being refurbished with a new design and innovations which will improve the experience of our customers and our team.

"The new look restaurant will also mean more job opportunities for people looking to join the team.

"Recruitment is currently taking place and those interested can apply via our website. We look forward to re-opening on May 10."
