Defendants from the Swindon area have had driving-related cases dealt with in courts outside of Wiltshire.

The three offences related to incidents in and around Bristol, so the guilty parties had to travel outside of the county to be sentenced.

A 19-year-old from Ashton Keynes received a £100 fine for speeding on the motorway.

Archie Morse, of Eastfield, drove along the M32 Severn Beach Rail Line Overbridge to the end of the M32 southbound in Bristol at 48mph on September 19 2021.

This exceeded the 40mph speed limit in place on that section of the M32, and his guilt was proven through single justice procedure at Bath Magistrates Court last month.

Along with receiving the fine and six points on his driving licence, Morse must pay £34 to victim services and £90 in court costs.

Two people from Wiltshire received big fines for failing to give information to police.

Igor Negara, of Cumberland Road in Walcot, must pay £660 plus £90 in court costs and £66 to victim services.

The 23-year-old was required by police at the Speed Enforcement Unit in Bristol on October 26 2021 to give information to police about the identification of a driver who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

He failed to do so and his guilt was proven via single justice procedure. Along with the fines and costs, he received six points on his driving licence.

Christopher Marsden committed the same offence on August 23 by failing to give information to Speed Enforcement Unit police about a different driver who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

The 57-year-old of Wesley Court in Royal Wootton Bassett received a £660 fine and six points on his driving licence. He must pay £66 to victim services plus £90 in court costs.

Both defendants’ cases were heard at Bath Magistrates Court last month.
