A TOWN centre takeaway has bounced back into inspectors' good books since it received a zero food hygiene rating a few months ago.

Imperial Express did not fare well during an inspection on February 17, with urgent improvement deemed necessary for staff's hygienic food handling, major improvement necessary for the management of food safety, and some improvement necessary for the general cleanliness and condition of the building.

However, it seems the restaurant on 188-189 Victoria Road acted quickly to clean up its act and improve.

Swindon Advertiser:

So, when Swindon Borough Council health inspectors returned to the takeaway and sandwich shop on 188-189 Victoria Road on May 5, they were impressed enough to bump up the food hygiene rating up to four (Good).

The next day, the food hygiene team inspected Red Sea East African Restaurant at 1  Camdale Parade on Cricklade Road and gave it three out of five.

All three categories - hygienic food handlng, management of food safety, and the cleanliness and condition of the building - were considered satisfactory.
