A popular Highworth landmark has still not been replaced, after being removed 18 months ago due to safety issues.
The post that held the Haresfield Dovecote up had become rotten meaning it was in imminent danger of collapse, so it was taken down as a precautionary measure - Highworth Town Council announced this via a Facebook post telling people: "Don't be alarmed."
Highworth Town Councillor Keith Smith then started a campaign to get the much-loved structure replaced in October 2020. But 18 months later there's still an empty space in Sevenfields where it used to be.
This led to one resident enquiring about the status of the efforts to bring the dovecote back after months of not hearing anything, which in turn prompted an update from Cllr Smith.
He said: "This is still under consideration and it is planned that Sevenfields, Edencroft and Knowlands will receive a flyer shortly to gauge opinion. This will be subject to approval from Swindon Borough Council and it will need to be insured and inspected.
"For residents on the estate who would like to see the Dovecot replaced: keep your eyes open for the flyer with further info on."
