Three adults and a baby were rescued from a marooned lift in Westgate shopping centre.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the Oxford shopping centre at 10am on May 13 after hearing a lift had gotten stuck with people inside.

Fire crews from Rewley Road Fire Station rescued the trapped victims in 30 minutes.

Incident commander Jason Clifford said: "The adults looked very relieved to be out whilst baby Indee took it all in her stride."

Many took to the rescue service's Facebook to share their own stories of getting stuck in lifts after hearing about the ordeal.

One commenter seems to have been in a very similar situation, saying: "I never have shouted louder or kicked a door harder then turning to you in your buggy in a calm voice going 'it's OK'."
