A man who assaulted a woman and committed £400 worth of criminal damage in a popular Swindon lap dancing and gentlemen's club has been fined.

Sukinder Mann, 32 of Oaklands Avenue, Isleworth appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on Friday, May 20.

He was charged with common assault and criminal damage.

The defendant pleaded guilty to both offences.

On October 22, 2021 Mann destroyed bottles worth £404.26 belonging to the Dreams Lounge lap dancing and gentlemen's club on Victoria Road.

He was then alleged to have assaulted a woman during the same incident.

Magistrates fined the defendant £250 for the assault and ordered him to pay £85 in court costs and £34 as a victim surcharge.

Mann was also ordered to pay £404.26 in compensation for the damage that he caused.

It is not the first time that a crime has taken place at the lap dancing and gentlemen's club.

In July 2013, £170,000 worth of damage was caused after a man set fire to the club by crashing his car and setting fire to it.

Faisal Qaddus was jailed for four years in January 2014 for arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered.

Then in May 2014, police were called to a 15 man mass brawl outside the premises.

Three men were arrested on that occasion.
