Swindon's newest pub was packed on its opening day as families enjoyed the bank holiday sun.
The Strawberry Thief opened its doors early for the Platinum Jubilee weekend and pubgoers showed their appreciation by filling all the tables - inside and out.
"It's absolutely heaving. It's so nice to see a new pub coming out in Tadpole Garden Village," one reveller told the Adver at around 2pm.
Arkell's is not officially opening the Tadpole Garden Village pub until June 16 but pubgoers were pleased with the soft opening in time for the Platinum Jubilee bank holiday.
Customers mentioned enjoying the setting for the picturesque pub which backs onto a field. Parents were relaxing in the pub garden while also keeping an eye on their children playing on the field.
The pub has a 'Jubilee Barbecue Menu' which includes burgers, hotdogs, grilled halloumi and pizzas.
George Arkell said: “It is important for us to throw the doors open to the public for the Jubilee celebrations as we know the community of Tadpole Garden Village are excited to be able to meet family and friends there and celebrate together.
"The pub is looking fantastic and all of our locally brewed draught beer will be available on the bar with the new pizza oven up and running as well as BBQ food on offer.
"There will be no bookings taken during the special extended bank holiday weekend, just turn up and enjoy the community spirit.”
