A FAVOURITE of TV's The Chase will be treading the boards in Swindon for this year's panto.

The Wyvern Theatre and producers Imagine Theatre announced Anne Hegerty will be will be playing Fairy Flutterby for Beauty and the Beast this winter.

In a break from trying to stop teams of quizzers from winning money with their general knowledge, Anne will be starring alongside comedy impressionist and Britain's Got Talent finalist Paul Burling.

He plays French frank while local favourite Dave Ashley is returning for his seventh panto at the town centre venue.

Anne said: “I love panto. Beauty and the Beast is a firm family favourite and I know all of the magical pantomime ingredients will be included for the best night out for the whole family, so, I am so pleased to be creating some of that magic – I can’t wait to see you on the stage.”
