Two men from Birmingham have been charged with scrap metal theft offences in the southwest.
Officers arrested the pair on June 11 after being alerted to a scrap metal theft in progress in Broad Town.
A vehicle containing scrap metal was seized as part of police enquiries and this linked the two to a separate theft of scrap metal in Chippenham that took place on May 10.
Florin Toma, 42, of Queens Head Road and Adrian Stoicescu, 28, of Whitehall Road, both Birmingham-based, have both been charged with two counts of theft and are due to appear at Swindon Magistrates' Court on August 2.
Sgt Stephanie Young said: “We would always encourage members of the public to report suspicious activity they may see in their neighbourhood so we can take action quickly.”
